Our labels are hand-printed on 100% acid-free, handmade paper derived from fibers that are indigenous to the region and have been in use since pre-Columbian times.
Behind each bottle of PIERDE ALMAS is a time-honored recipe kept alive with painstaking care by the family patriarch in each successive generation.

Made from 100% Espadn Agave, which lends a smooth, velvety texture to the mezcal; this is naturally fermented in small wooden vats and double distilled in copper-pot alembics in Oaxaca. With smoky floral aromas, and bold agave notes on the palate (accented by fresh apple, banana and lemon). Earthy minerals appear on the finish where they merge with hints of quince and anise. The dense cuerpo of Espadn coats the inside of your mouth and lingers on the palate long after it has been swallowed.
Our mission at Mezcal Pierde Almas is straightforward: to rescue and preserve the cultural heritage and singular history of the amazing elixir that is mezcal. We are first and foremost a socially, culturally and environmentally responsible entity based in San Francisco Tutla, Oaxaca, with our palenque (distillery) in the village of Chichicapam, Oaxaca. At Pierde Almas, we are obsessed with the strictest observance of a constellation of ancestral methods and lore – from pit-roasting our agaves up to a week to using the same design of copper pot still as that brought by the Spaniards – that have slowly evolved over the course of five centuries to produce one of the finest, hand crafted distilled spirits ever to appear upon the world stage.
