The Return of Mexico in a Bottle

The Return of Mexico in a Bottle
It is with tremendous joy that we say Mexico in a Bottle is returning! Our first event in 2021 will be a virtual one on June 13th. Why virtual? Well, the fact is even as the country begins to re-open, tasting events will be the last type of event given the green light for all of the obvious reasons. Our goal is to make the virtual event feel as experiential as possible, and to enable attendees to learn as much as they can directly from brands and the people producing mezcal. After researching several platforms to produce the event, we settled on a company whose software enables a great deal of flexibility which will allow for live demos, music, talks with industry leaders and individual exhibitor booths and lounge areas where attendees can interact with one another. Stay tuned for the event details and how to get a ticket, but in the meantime, save June 13th in your calendar!

We are tentatively planning to resume live events in the late fall and are just waiting for the go ahead to announce those dates and locations. It has been a long and lonely year without Mexico in a Bottle so to say we are looking forward to it might be one of the biggest understatements ever.

We've also got a couple of other exciting announcements, including details for our mezcal trip to Michoacan December 4th-9th and a save the date for our next Mezcal Dinner in San Francisco on Wednesday, May 5th. We are also excited to announce a new t-shirt in collaboration with Cuero Viejo - Women Will Change The World Drinking Mezcal - with all proceeds going to Fondo Semillas, an organization that has been working for the past 30 years in Mexico to ensure women and girls have access to education, healthcare, jobs and justice.

Finally, be sure to check out the story behind the new Peloton de la Muerte expressions, this beautiful look at Chef Alejandro Ruiz's new cookbook, our new tasting notes for Gente de Mezcal, Peloton de la Muerte and Mezcal La Medida, plus additions to our Mezcal Encyclopedia. And if you aren't already, be sure to follow us on Instagram @mezcalistas and @mexicoinabottle for special announcements and posts.

Saludos,

Susan, Ferron y Max

Caution: It's said 'for everything there is Mezcal' but we add 'except for one thing' - getting drunk. Please drink responsibly. The most accurate and dependable book on living life at its fullest says 'wine (or Mezcal) makes the heart rejoice' and 'makes life enjoyable' (Ps 104:15; Ec 10:19) but overindulgence can certainly lead to harm (Pr 23:29-31)! If you drink at all please drink in moderation.
