About ‘Everything Mezcal’ from the Originator of this Site
My bride and I, along with many other travel companions, have traveled extensively in Mexico for years. We love the country and the people. We love the sights sounds and flavors of Mexico. I like a good, cold Mexican beer almost as much as I like Mezcal. Actually I haven't drank a so-called domestic beer in a long long time. I admittedly like imports.
I remember it well; my first taste of Mezcal - it was in Taxco, Mexico. Two days later I was in Guanajuato and was able to sample what the bartender considered top shelf Mezcal but the big breakthrough when it came to building my appreciation for Mezcal was when I was able to enjoy Oaxaca, Oaxaca.
There are some really good sites that highlight the virtues of Mezcal and the culture behind producing it. I will freely reference them on Everything Mezcal (eMezcal) and in our Newsletter (subscribe here). As connoisseurs of Mezcal go I'm really just an amateur but I'm learning and I want to share my knowledge of everything that has to do with Mezcal as I explore the product, the culture and the history behind agave and artisan Mezcal.
The world of mezcal at times seems so mysteries and complex that I feel I will never be anything more than an amateur. The more I dig into and the more I learn about Mezcal the more I feel that when it comes to mezcal, no one is an expert. Often with traditional spirits like beer, wine, scotch and whiskey so called experts tend to become snobs and there's no room for snobbery when it comes to enjoying Mezcal.
So welcome aboard and remember: for everything that makes you feel good, Mezcal; for everything that makes you feel bad, Mezcal; so kick back and enjoy EverythingMezcal.com a blog and marketplace devoted to all things mezcal.
