Many of the award-winning Scorpion Mezcals are a rare limited edition and triple-distilled mezcals in a French glass decanter with a scorpion in every bottle.

Scorpion Mezcal Silver
(100% Agave, 750 ml, 40% abv)
Also known as Blanco, Joven or Plata, this mezcal is the initial fresh distillate and offers the best pure expression of the agave plant.
Clear. Complex, fruit fudge and smoky nose. A soft, round entry leads to a smooth medium body with delicate lemon grass, dried fruit, and spice flavors. Finishes with a long, silky, sweet, and hot spicy finish. A velvet brick.
Appearance: Clear as molten glass in the bottle- it is a beautiful thing. On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar. Quite a striking contrast to most clear spirits such as vodka.
First Impression: A dry bouquet, hints of lime, citrus, cucumber salt, and savory herbs, and on more warming: char, creosote, some spiciness, and a faint trace of balsam.
Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, lime, citrus, leather and dry smoke, almost a tannic. Light and spritely on the tongue mouth feel, whispers down the throat and then leaves a rather delicate warming considering the 80 proof with a smoky spicy aftertaste. Like a mesquite campfire, this is amazingly complex. Spirits Review
This award-winning Scorpion Silver Mezcal is artisan-made in small batches in Oaxaca, Mexico, with a real scorpion in every bottle. This version is freshly distilled and bottled without aging. The distinctive bottle comes with it's own little Scorpion Mezcal® sombrero.

Scorpion Mezcal Reposado
(100% Agave, 750 ml and 200 ml, 40% abv)
This smooth mezcal is rested in oak barrels for between 2 and 11 months.
Excellent for sipping.
Gold. Lanolin and honey aromas. A soft round entry leads to a dry light-to medium-body with honey, grassy herbs, flax, caramel, salt, light spice. Finishes dryly with a honeyed oak barrel note.
Appearance: Oak amber color in the bottle. If it was maple syrup it would be a medium amber - It is a beautiful thing! On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar.
First Impression: Smoky and more understated and delicate than the Scorpion Silver. Dry, with a bouquet of lime, citrus, and cucumber - salt, and savory herbs, and on more warming: char, creosote, some spiciness. The oak aging even at only 6 months shines through.
Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, with citrus, leather, dry smoke and lime, hints of cardamon, nutmeg. It is resinous on the tongue and mouth feel, whispers down the throat and then leaves a rather delicate warming considering the 80 proof. It has a smokey, spicy aftertaste like a mesquite campfire. This is amazingly complex stuff- very smooth and too easy-to-drink. Spirits Review

Scorpion Mezcal Añejo
(100% Agave, 750 ml, 40% abv)
Matured for 1 year in oak barrels.
What you will experience is a fresh, nimble, nicely balanced spirit with a hint of melon flavor.
Firm and slightly oily with light lime, cucumber, sea salt, and herbal aromas and flavors; slightly bitter, leafy finish.
Appearance: Dark amber color in the bottle. If it was maple syrup, it would be a medium amber. It is a beautiful thing! On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass, it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar.
First Impression: Very smoky and more understated than the others. Smells like a tin of just opened sobranie tobacco, with strong Phenol and smoke.
Taste: Dry and sweet at the same time somehow, with lime, leather, oil, and smoke, and a suggestion of mint. Resinous on the tongue, and mouth feel. It whispers down the throat, and then leaves a rather delicate burn considering the 80 proof, with a smoky spicy aftertaste like a really good tobacco and spicy notes. Spirits Review

Scorpion Mezcal Añejo 5 Year
(100% Agave, 750 ml, 40% abv) Rare limited edition French glass decanter with stopper.
Beautiful golden amber color. Intense aromas of roasted pineapple, raw honey, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon bark, fresh herbs, and smoldering embers. A rich, lush entry leads to a massive, off-dry full-bodied palate of roasted agave, grilled pineapple, wildflower honey, oiled leather, charred oak, exotic peppercorns, and brown spices. Finishes with a long, sweet fade of toffee, peppery spice, and smoky oak. Amazingly complex, balanced, and utterly delicious.
The medium amber/harvest gold color is attractive and pure. The first nosings pick up intriguing, if oddly compelling notes of quinine, burnt match and furniture polish; additional time in the glass brings out deeper scents, especially onion, brine, olives, and damp earth. The palate entry is sooty, sweet, and close to creamy; at midpalate, the taste profile turns zesty, oaky sweet, charcoal-like, and, on the whole, savory. Finishes bittersweet and caramel-like. Nice job. F. Paul Pacults' Spirit Journal
Appearance: Interesting gold / amber color in the bottle - about the same color as a bourbon (but not a scotch) of the same age. A honey oak or smokey brown color.
First Impression: Brine, phenol, mesquite sap, salt.
Taste: Brine, herbs de Provence, salt, smoke, oily, almost like duck fat cooked over a smoky wood fire- saltpeter/niter, alkali, slick mouth feel, almost paradoxical sweet/bitter and definite viscosity.Spirits Review

Scorpion Mezcal Añejo 7 Year
(100% Agave, 750 ml, 40% abv)
Triple-distilled
Rare limited edition French glass decanter with stopper
Brilliant pale amber color. Vibrant caramel, roasted pineapple, vanilla, pepper, smoky embers, and spice aromas. A supple entry leads to a velvety dry-yet-fruity full-bodied palate with intense vanilla, toffee, agave, grilled pepper, smoky wood, and exotic peppercorn flavors. Finishes with a rich, long fade of mocha, toffee, cracked black pepper, toasted oak, and spices. A wonderful Cognac-like mezcal with a superb wood treatment. A very impressive, world-class spirit. BTI
The deep amber/burnished gold color is clean and free of debris. The first inhalations find typical mezcal scents such as India ink, and vinyl; after seven more minutes of air contact, the aroma adds burned/baked aromas. The palate entry is surprisingly sweet and mild; at midpalate, a robust ashy/sooty flavor takes charge of the flavor proceedings, elbowing out all other taste possibilities. Ends up on a moderately sweet, smoky note that's quite pleasant. F. Paul Pacults' Spirit Journal
Appearance: Tawny, Russian gold or Baltic amber. On swirling, it leaves a very light coating on the glass which belies its viscosity. Sitting in the glass, it looks like a small puddle of sap or nectar.
First Impression: Smoky, phenol and and brine. Damn near ethereal compared to most mezcal.
Taste: Smoke, aloe and iodine. Much more understated than any of the others a marked contrast to the 5 year old. A eminently civilized, if tame expresion of a mezcal. Spirits Review

Scorpion Mezcal Estate Grown Tobala Mezcal Silver
Callaberos Inc's, Estate Grown Tobala Mezcals are already following in the footsteps of it's cousins. Tastings.com awarded The Estate Grown Tobala Silver 96 points, and earned a rating of "SUPERLATIVE". This superior quality mezcal takes one to new levels of enjoyment. It is said of Caballeros Inc.'s portfolio of mezcals that they take the consumer "beyond tequila". The two new Tobala presentations will break the surly bonds of ordinary mezcals and catapult you to a new frontier in agave spirits.
Tasting Notes:
Scorpion Mezcal, Tobala varietal, erupts with fresh aromas of dill weed, kiwi and freshly mown grass, along with a moderated ashiness. Dill dominates the flavors as well, but the young and green flavors continue to green grapes, cilantro, lemongrass and anise, all overlayed with a smoky richness. Startlingly clean and fresh – a benchmark Tobala
Scorpion Mezcal® Estate Grown Tobala Añejo
Tasting Notes:
Like its Silver sister, this tobala mezcal offers assertive aromas of fresh dill weed and lemongrass, but this time with an enhancing vanilla and caramel oak structure. A second sniff yields kiwi, custard, sandalwood and baking spices in a pretty mélange of aromas. It’s a well-rounded anejo in the mouth, with residual oaky sweetness and smoke combining to elevate the herbal and agave flavors. Tangy cigar notes merge with roasted nuts and a juicy vanilla richness on the finish create a seductive, silky and long lasting conclusion.

Caution: It's said 'for everything there is Mezcal' but we add 'except for one thing' - getting drunk. Please drink responsibly. The most accurate and dependable book on living life at its fullest says 'wine (or Mezcal) makes the heart rejoice' and 'makes life enjoyable' (Ps 104:15; Ec 10:19) but overindulgence can certainly lead to harm (Pr 23:29-31)! If you drink at all please drink in moderation! (Quotes from NWT)
